The ABC of getting pregnant

The ABC of getting pregnant

`Since we have been TTC for so long, I hope our next BD will lead to no AF and me feeling PUPO, so I can take a HPT and maybe have a BFP after I POAS.` (For those of you, for whom this is just gibberish, the meaning of this sentence can be found at the end of the post) 🙂

I felt very much lost in translation, when I first started reading articles, blogs and discussion boards about getting pregnant. Everyone was using these different acronyms and words I had never heard of before and I had to look up every single one of them. After a while, you get used to it of course and when you start using the acronyms yourself, that’s when you know you are really an expert and you officially speak BML (baby-making-language). 🙂 This one, I just added to the list myself.

For those who are interested to learn to understand it as well or those who want to look up some abbreviations, I made an overview below of the most frequently used acronyms for baby makers and I hope this ABC will be helpful for you.

AF: Aunt Flo (or period)

AMA: Advanced Maternal Age (as from 35 years old… OMG, I’m AMA already!)

ART: Assisted Reproductive Technology

Meaning of the beautiful sentence, rich in acronyms on top of the post: `since we have been trying to conceive for so long, I hope our next Baby Dance will lead to no Aunt Flo (period) and me feeling pregnant until proven otherwise, so I can take a home pregnancy test and maybe have a big fat positive after I peed on a stick ! `
